An arson investigation has been opened into a fire that destroyed a vacant Nanawale Estates home Thursday, according to a police log.

An arson investigation has been opened into a fire that destroyed a vacant Nanawale Estates home Thursday, according to a police log.

Six units responded to the 3:38 p.m. alarm of the fire at 14-3507 Lehua Rd. Arriving firefighters found the tri-level structure 50 to 70 percent engulfed in flames. The blaze took almost two hours to extinguish.

The fire caused an estimated $136,800 damage to the home, which according to county property tax records, is owned by Sara and Bryan Suganuma.

No injuries were reported.
